Creating outdoor spaces that will relax and inspire!
At Natural Elements, the focus is making it easier and convenient for people to get outside more often and enjoy it! I believe that everyone deserves to have a relaxing outdoor space of their own, a space for their family and friends to gather and spend some quality time together.
There have been multiple studies proving the health tremendous health benefits that we get just from being outside. Nature reduces stress, improves mood, lowers blood pressure, reduces inflammation, aids in better sleep, increases creativity, and the list goes on. The best part is, it is free! It costs you nothing to get outside and soak in some of the benefits mother nature has to offer. Just 20 minutes a day can have a huge impact --- and just think of how much more likely you will be to follow through on this if you have a newly revamped outdoor space done by yours truly!
Your satisfaction is my priority and I will always provide a service that I am proud of. We will start our relationship with a free 30-minute at-home consultation where you can show me around and tell me about the vision you have and we can make a game plan from there.
Hi! My name is Meri and am the one running this one-woman-show here at Natural Elements! I’d love to share a little bit about myself and fill you in on how this little LLC in the coastal town of Kennebunk, Maine came to be.
To start from the beginning, I was born and raised in a small suburb of Massachusetts. My parents instilled the importance of hard work in me at a very young age. Many of my first childhood memories involved me following my dad around the house as his “little helper” getting any odd-jobs done that he was able to do himself. Whether it was changing the oil on his car, fixing a fence in the backyard or just a simple spring clean-up, I was his go-to gal. Both my parents always preferred us to be outside rather than staring at a television and I will be eternally grateful for that.
Fast forward 20 years and I've worked at an ice cream shop, some corporate offices, in the wedding event industry, hospitality and waitressing, reffing sports, in the manufacturing industry and babysitting. I felt like I had tried almost everything but there was nothing that I LOVED. They say, if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life… I was determined to discover what that was for me.
I attended a 4- year college where I got a degree in Public and Corporate Communications and honestly, I didn’t love that either. Right after college, I got the opportunity to move up to Maine and I jumped on it! For as long as I can remember, I had spent all of my summers at my Meme's lake house in Sinclair, Maine and this state has just always felt like home to me. When I moved up here in January of 2020, I was still trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life and what really motivated me. Then COVID happened and nearly everything became virtual. After a couple months of extra schooling, I got certified to be a Holistic Life and Health Coach and then a little later down the road, a Certified Personal Trainer. Serving people and helping them increase their quality of life became a passion of mine but I still was not completely fulfilled. With everything still being virtual, I realized sitting behind a computer all day was NOT the life for me. I craved that personal connection that you just don’t seem to get through a screen and I also loved being outdoors. So, I went back to the drawing board. I made a list of all the things I was good at, all of the things that I loved doing and everything that was truly important to me. Then I tried to figure out how I could put that all together and use it to serve others. Then I had my light bulb moment.... “Oh my gosh, LANDSCAPING!!”
And so that became what is now, Natural Elements! I spent my first year working on a gorgeous coastal Maine property, learning and implementing SO many new skills from a brilliant mentor and boss with 30+ years of experience in the field. I’ve really grown to love and appreciate every aspect of this work and am so excited to spread this to the amazing people throughout the community. We are meant to be out in nature, connecting with everything and living in harmony with our surroundings. It brings us healing, happiness, community, connection and so much more. I hope to bring a little bit more of that into people’s lives, by helping them create a space of their own to relax and inspire them!
